About Me

Tour Guide / Art Historian

Eduardo Jiménez

My name is Eduardo Jiménez, and I’m an experienced official guide living in Paris since 2011.

Photography is one of my many hobbies, and all the photographs in this website have been taken by me (except for the portraits, those are by my talented brother Miguel Jiménez).

I graduated in History of Art at the University of Seville, and I did a Research Master at La Sorbonne, in Paris. I specialized in Spanish Renaissance and Baroque Art, and my research was centered around the artistic relationships between southern Spain and Italy in the XVI century through the means of engravings, copies of paintings and traveling artists.

I started my professional life working as a researcher on two highly successful exhibits in The Louvre : Velazquez in 2014 and Greco in 2018. As passionate as I was about those two artists, two of my all time favorites, research is a lonely job, and I knew I needed to do something different. Once I was finished with El Greco, I looked for a job as a tour guide, and I just loved it.

What began as a passion to learn and communicate to my family and friends who came to Paris, became my way of life and I wouldn’t know how to dedicate myself to anything else. People say that my enthusiasm is very contagious: learn and enjoy yourself!
